To check your networking configurations for the correct protocols, right click on the connection icon and select properties. Next click the server type button for Windows 95 or the server type tab for Windows 98.

You will need to configure the server type in the following order:

For Type of Dial-Up Server, select PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5, Internet.
Uncheck Log on to network
Check Enable software compression.
Uncheck Require encrypted password.
Uncheck NetBEUI
Uncheck IPX/SPX Compatible
Check TCP/IP
Click the TCP/IP Settings button
Next, click the TCP/IP Settings button in the bottom right corner.
Select the Server assigned IP address button.
Select the Server assigned name server addresses button.
Check both Use IP header compression and Use default gateway on remote network.
Click the OK button

You have now successfully configured your Dialup Network Setting (DUN) and are ready to connect to the internet. Double click the desktop icon for your connection and enter your assigned username and password. If you are dailing to a managed modem router you may be required to enter a "Realm" along with your username. The realm is determined by which franchise location you are a customer of. If you belong to our St.Louis franchise your username plus realm would be username@stl.quik.com. Check with your local Quik office to see if this is required for your area dialup connection.

Click connect and Happy Surfing!
